A Mannequins masquerade by Amanda Rose

                     Street Dreams get me

to the places I want to be

                                              Floating. Drifiting.

            near infinity

Printed Matter by Amanda Rose

-------MoMa PS1 ------

 NYC Book Fair

put together by printed matter.

Zines, books, photography, artists publications.

an entire spectrum of printed and physical matter

displayed for all.

Different types, different sizes, different creators expressing uniquely CREATIVE

forms

of storytelling.

reflecting. pondering. absorbing.

questions encompass thoughts. ideas swell.

neurons spark.

Physical matter doesn't even compare to pixelated platforms.

an experience confined to the hands of man

How can we appreciate compressed files without REALLY seeing it?

What changes in a population when the majority of experience comes from the screen of a computer?

Be aware of the vehicles presenting impressionable information.

Yashica 635 by Amanda Rose

image.jpg

It was left without instruction.

in a yellow plastic Nikon bag equipped with a double format yashica 635 camera, a roll of 120 film, and 3 small leathery cases.

1 labeled "wide"

1 labeled  "tele"

And the other more cyclindrical case was unmarked.

I unzipped the labeled cases one after the other.

each case revealed a small lens nestled above a larger lens

Attachments! Brilliant!

Excitement fills my entire being as I fantasize over our future journeys together,

you take me away to a dreamlike place

that has been kissed by your stories of an unknown past.........

Aimlessly walking the streets of south philly

the black and silver camera body leads the way.

the heavy and technical antique

seeks timeless compositions in every store

to every door.

dials turn.

reflections sharpen

click!

the shutter releases!

fusing light, film, and technology into one.
